Set Up a Site for Events

Add event category types and event categories, and configure your site settings to correctly handle events.

If you do not have an event category or an event category type, you will first need to make some.

Create an Event Category Type

  • Click on the search bar at the top of the dashboard
  • On the left hand side, filter for "Event Category Type"
  • Click the " new" button on the bottom left corner
  • Name the Site and click publish
  • These will be the type of events on the site, so you can create one or a few.

Create an Event Category

  • Click on the search bar at the top of the dashboard
  • On the left hand side, filter for "Event Category"
  • Create a Display Name, or the name of the site
  • The Internal Name will not be seen, but it is how you can search information, so you can create a different name to make it easier to find
  • As this creates a page, you can add leads and other content
  • Choose the category type you wish to display
  • Click Publish

Configure the Site

  • Go to the dashboard for the site and go to the main tab under the "Sites and Settings" area
  • Scroll down to events and give it a primary and academic category type
  • If you wish to use API, toggle the switch to turn it on
  • Click "Save"

Add a New Event

  • Adding events to the event category type will automatically add them to this page
