An Accordion List can be added as a content item found under list styles. Contents can be added through an advanced list using a Rich Text module, with the title as the visible field and the text as the dropdown field. Contents can also be added on a basic list using the “External Content Item” module under a similar format. Brightspot currently does not allow for an accordion list within an accordion list.

There isn’t a way to edit the line breaks as they are present within Brightspot unless CSS is added.

The Section Search is a new feature on Brightspot which allows individuals to create a search for the content of a specific section, including the results in a dynamic list. To start, create a new Site Search. Select a “Section” from the dropdown menu and set the search settings to your desired results. Next, open the Section. Under Section Overrides, open the Header tab and select your newly created Search option from the dropdown. This allows the Section Search to appear as the designated search page instead of the inherited site search. You can change the number of columns available by adjusting the “Column Count” setting. This is found below Items and List styles within the List content option.

No, the image that is uploaded to a specific employee is what will display when in a list. If no image is uploaded, no image will display for the employee.

Employee pages can be organized using employee groups or tags. This allows dynamic lists to automatically pull and sort them. Employees can also be sorted alphabetically by their last name, the newest published, the oldest published, or page views (highest to lowest).

List modules are perfect for displaying employee pages or contact information in a directory. Dynamic lists can automatically pull in tags or employee groups to auto generate directories, and the visible fields on employee promos can be set in the Sites & Settings. The visible fields in an employee promo can be edited in Sites & Settings under Page Defaults. The option “Employee Settings” allows you to change the fields which automatically show for employee promos. However, the order of items displayed in the employee page cannot be changed at this time.

One automatic function offered through Brightspot is the Employee Ingest, which pulls information from the BYU database including faculty names and general contact information. This allows for quick bulk uploads to create faculty directories.

The most common way to display tags is using the “Tag Cloud” list module. This allows the text color, button, background, and title of tags to be edited. One example of a tag cloud can be seen below, on the Resources page of the MA Chaplaincy Site.
