Upload Multiple Events from a Spreadsheet
Set up events and go to the CSV upload page
- Make sure your site is set up correctly for events.
- Open the sidebar menu using the button at the top left.
- Go to Admin > Upload Events as CSV.
Create a spreadsheet (and export as CSV)
- If needed, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the CSV File Template link to download the example file (BYU_Events_Sample.csv) to start your spreadsheet.
- Open the CSV file using a spreadsheet editor (such as Excel or Numbers).
- Remove the example events, and add the events you wish to upload.
- Update the start and end date formats to mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss (e.g. 05/23/2020 15:30:00 for May 23, 2020 at 3:30pm).
- Export the spreadsheet in CSV format.
Upload the CSV file and edit events
- Go back to the Upload Events as CSV page.
- In the dropdown under Csv File, choose New Upload
- Click the Choose button or drag and drop your file to the New Upload area.
- If all of your events have the same location, choose (or create) a location under Event Location.
- If all of your events have the same primary category, choose the correct Primary Category.
- Add Secondary Categories as needed.
- Click the Save button.
- You should see a screen telling you what has been done: which events were loaded successfully and any issues that have been encountered.
- All of your new events have been saved as drafts so you can now go add more detail and publish them.
Edit uploaded events in bulk
- Click the Search bar at the top of the screen.
- In the left sidebar, change All Content Types to Events to start filtering the list of content.
- In the left sidebar, change the default Status (Published) dropdown to Draft to show all of the events that have not yet been published.

- Use a New Workstream for quickly editing each event individually.
- Use the Bulk Edit button to update all events with the same settings in one or more fields.
