Attachments

Sometimes you will need to have files or images uploaded in order for users to access them. Brightspot makes this very easy to do!

Uploading Attachments

In the dashboad, on the right side of the page, there is a module box called Upload. Go ahead and either drag a single file or multiple files to the box. Or, you can click on the upload button. Once these files are uploaded you can click on each one and make changes to each respective file. Especially if they are images, please make sure to add alt text as well as any other information that you have for the images. To learn more about images and the data that is good to include, please visit this feature guide.

If it is a document, give it a title. If you would like you can also add tags directly onto the document at this stage, or you can always do it later if desired as well. There is also an option within the file settings to allow a user to download, or you can disable the file from being downloaded.

Using Attachments

If you have uploaded files, users can have the ability to download or view them on your pages.

Once you have your attachments uploaded, you can add them to pages as links through promos or buttons. When adding a promo or button, under the Item area, click on the magnifying glass and search for the item that you have uploaded and saved.

How do I change the title of attachments within Brightspot?

October 12, 2020 04:01 PM
When publishing an attachment within Brightspot, the title field automatically populates based on the file name of the document that you upload. However, that can be edited by selecting the “title” field and inputting your desired title. Once you publish the attachment, the new name will be visible as the page title and will be reflected in the URL.
