Rich Text

The Rich Text module allows for powerful customization for the body of your Brighspot page, whether it is a simple block of text or large document like blocks that include images, forms and links to other sites.

The table icon can be found at the top of the Rich Text Module. Click on this icon, select the number of columns and rows, and input the information desired. Tables can also be pasted into the Rich Text module, and all tables can be edited or added to as needed using the “Meatball Menu” (3 dot dropdown) above the table.

Brightspot relies on templates to input content, which sometimes results in line breaks and unsolicited spaces. One technique to avoid this is to add a break and 2 enters between the heading and body of text to minimize spaces. If necessary, these can also be removed using CSS. If you have a specific concern and are unable to resolve the issue, please contact the migration team for additional assistance.

Brightspot provides editing options, including the ability to alter the alignment and background of text, in the overrides of the RichText Module. The RichText dashboard also provides H2, H3, H4, H5, and H6 buttons which serve to create headings and organization within text by changing the color, font, or size of text.

In an effort to maintain design consistency across all BYU sites, this feature is unable to be modified.
