Tags are words or phrases used for organizing or marking related content. They can help in sorting, searching, and filtering content.
Tags differ from sections in that content does not become part of a tag (as it does when it's put into a section), but a tag is in effect attached to a piece of content. Content can only belong to one section, but can have many tags associated with it.

You can create a tag by clicking on the Tag button in the Quick Start bar in the Dashboard, or open a Search window and use the New area to create a new tag.
Tag Pages
Each tag in a site can have a page, but is not require to. When you create a tag it may have a URL. This will be the address of the tag's page. If add no content, the tag page will automatically display a promo of every item that has that tag, ordered by the most recently published items first.
If you do not want a tag to have a page on your site, make sure the page does not have a URL. The tag will still be usable for organization but will not appear as a link in tag lists.
If you want to customize the page you can add content as you would with any other page. Adding content will override the default behavior, so if you want a list of all of the items that have that tag you'll want to create a dynamic list to show those.
Tag Lists
Most Brightspot items do not display the tags that are associated with them. But Articles and Events do have a visible tag list automatically included at the bottom of the page, as you can see at the bottom of this page.
Brightspot also has a Tag Cloud module and other list types that can be used to show tags in other places.
Hierarchical Tags
Brightspot allows you to create a tag hierarchy, so that you can categorize or organize your tags. This structure allows you to display a categorized list of tags on a page, or add filters to a search page based on a parent tag. When you create a new tag, you can set up a tag hierarchy by choosing another tag as the Parent.
